Hello everyone, please share the information, I’m looking for a wig maker, wigs from a regular store didn’t suit me,
Hi Solnce, when you say wigs from a regular store was that specific wig shops that specialise in wigs for chemo/alopecia? I would have thought these specific shops would have something to suit. Simply Wigs and Joseph Wigs I have used and have found extremely helpful. I also sourced my wig via my local Macmillan centre. The lady that helped me specialised in them and had lots of catalogues. She helped me find the right type of wig as there are so many different style of wig cap that the hair is on. I'm sorry I cant help with a specific wig maker but hopefully someone will be along soon who has had some experience. I have to admit it did take me a very long time to get the right wig for me, colour, style and particular cap.
Wishing you all the best.

thank you very much for your answer, I’m looking for a hair stylist who will sew me a wig, unfortunately in special stores for cancer patients the price is for some reason twice as expensive as in a hair salon, I found one salon that offered me 450 pounds for a wig, but I I would like it cheaper
My chemo unit made a referral to a wig clinic. I didn't make a final decision, but they have ordered one for me to try, which can be styled. Worth asking if there is somewhere linked to your unit. I also get £100 towards the wig. If this one is right, I'll only have to add £10 to it..
I will be happy to share information with you if you want, I found a hair salon where I sew wigs, all the locals in the area is called Woolwich, I haven’t received another 100 pounds for a wig and unfortunately I don’t know how to do it, who should I ask for it?
When I mentioned being more worried about hair loss than cancer, the nurse told me about the voucher. I know it's a 1 off payment, and I don't know if everywhere takes it. You could probably ask you breast care nurse or chemo nurse specialist. I'm in West London and would travel to Woolwich if they do nice wigs. I'm not overly impressed with the flat, dank ones I've seen.
Hiya .My hospital gave me a voucher and it was valid at a specialist wig shop that was linked to the hospital. We were able to get a wig to the value of £300 & paid £79:towards cost .To be honest though ,although it's a lovely wig I have only worn it twice since I started chemo 5 Oct. Although they say get one similar to your pre chemo hair ,I'm just not the 'blond highlighted bob' person I was then .I have coldcapped and managed to retain some hair including a reasonable fringe so I prefer to wear light head coverings than put on the wig .
