Hi there, another newbie here. Got my diagnosis before Christmas & in the limbo period now (made longer by Christmas) waiting for biopsy results to know type & treatment plan. I’ve been ok but last few nights have been sleepless. I still hurt from biopsy on 18th so I’m constantly reminded that it’s there & find it difficult to switch off.

Anyway, just hoping to get straight talking info, gallows humour & maybe there’ll be others who can’t sleep too who might be up for a chat. Thanks for reading.

  • Hi Hydraxia, and welcome to the group no one really wants to be in. Hope you find it as supportive and informative as I have.

I'm in similar position. Had my 2nd lot of biopsies and scans on 14th Dec. Hoping to get plan of action on 2nd JanFingers crossed. These 2nd biopsies have left me in a lot more pain and discomfort than the 1st, but it's the frustration of waiting that's the most difficult. But I keep telling myself it's better to be patient and thorough. But you're right it's hard to forget about it when you are reminded by the pain.

Wishing you the very best of luck. Xxx

  • Hi Hydraxia

Welcome to the forum and I’m sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer. What you are feeling is perfectly natural. There is an “Awake “ thread on the forum where you can access when you have problems sleeping. The thread has been going for just over 7 years and people come and go on the thread.  You will be welcomed by those of us who are the Awake thread if you’d like to join.

Wishing you the best of luck with whatever comes next.

    Best wishes

  • I have always been a useless sleeper - two to four hours a night since my children were small and now all in their 40s.  However I was told about Melatonin when I was diagnosed a few months back - good for relaxing, sleeping and for cancer.  Seems to work usually for me, so relaxed sometimes I dont want to get out of bed in the morning.
