Hi everyone!
I got diagnosed in October and operated on at the end of November: grade 2, stage 2, but the evil f*cker had already reached a lymph node. I'm mostly ok (after not at all being ok when I got the diagnosis) but super scared about it coming back again as it was already in my lymph gland. Oh and the small matter of chemo and radio to get through...at first they didn't think I'd need chemo until the post-op biopsy results so that freaked me out a lot, but just trying to focus on staying alive. Hope everyoyelse is doing ok and getting through the festive season during this weird time. Love to all of you xxx
Hi Junebug, I was grade 3 stage 3. After my 1st op cancer was found in my sentinel node. I then had to have an axillary clearance which showed 9/12 were positive. I was so scared. My surgeon was happy she had removed all the cancer. I had a PET/CT scan and all was clear. Since then I’ve had chemo, radio and targeted treatment plus hormone therapy. Chemo to kill any cells that had broken off and travelled round my body, radio the target the specific area and targeted treatment for the HER2 positive and hormone as was hormone positive too. Unfortunately plans can change once all the investigations have been done. They will tailor it for you it’s not one treatment fits all anymore.
wishing you all the best
