Hi,
I am new to this group so thought I'd say hi. I found a lump in October and was told I had breast cancer possibly in both breasts. After numerous additional biopsies in my lumpless breast, I was told on Monday I have pre cancerous cells needing a lumpectomy in my left breast and a lump in my right that needs a mastectomy plus my lymph nodes removed. I am having a ct scan on Tuesday with results back on Thursday. I have been told surgery will be at some point in January with chemo and radiotherapy to follow. I am at the stage where I just want to get on with it as it seems I have wasted 8 weeks on a breast that in the end was pre cancerous cells (which I am grateful about, don't get me wrong).
My son turns 13 next Saturday and my daughter 10 two days after Christmas so I am going to be keeping busy but the whole process seems to be taking ages. Had anyone else found this?
Those initial weeks are the worse. Welcome to the club no one wanted to join. I was diagnosed in April, surgery in June and radiotherapy in August. I guess Xmas is causing a bit of delay wih surgeries now but try and enjoy it. I had a right hand side mastectomy and aSLNB. I was hoping recovery would be easy but I’m still struggling with some pain and swelling under right arm. I think you should go wild this Xmas, have lots of fun planning, decorating, buying presents etc. Don’t let the cancer take control of your Xmas. Xx
