Hi everyone,

It's taken me a while to get this far as last few weeks have been a whirlwind! Diagnosed a few weeks ago stage 4 HER2 Positive, 2 tumours in breast and mets to liver, lungs and spine.

Had first chemo and feeling ok today so far. Treatment is Docetaxel, Phesgo and Denosumab.

If anyone else is on the same journey I would love to hear how effective these treatments can be. Holding onto hope for me, my children and family x

  • Hi Jayella,

So sorry to hear of your diagnosis Cry It’s so much to get your head around emotions are all over the place.
I was diagnosed the end of July with Her2 positive Er negative and pr negative grade 3 stage 1.

I was started on Docetaxel, Phesgo and Carbeplatn back in August and have just completed my final chemo last Friday.

I found the first couple not too bad, but for me I’ve suffered with sickness, taste changes which I’ve found really hard to eat, tiredness which has got worse after each one, diarrhoea and constipation, normally after about day 8 I start to feel better and then for 10 days afrer  feel back to normal near enough, taste buds still a bit off, I had mine every 3 weeks.

I cold capped and I’ve been lucky to keep most of my hair it’s thinned a little on top but you wouldn’t really notice so I’m pleased I persevered.

How many cycles do you have to have?

  • Hi Sasha,

I am having 6 cycles every 3 weeks. I am only on day 2 atm and feel ok but I think the side effects may kick in soon and they sound awful. Did you have filgrastim injections? I have to start those tomorrow and they sound awful :(

So wonderful that you kept most of your hair. I chose not too so have had mine cut short in readiness for the shedding.

  • Hi Jayella,  I found the first couple of days I don’t feel too bad, I would say day 4- 7 were the worst for me, everyone reacts differently so fingers crossed you won’t feel too bad.
Yes I’m on the injections from day 2 for 7 days I was advised to take these at night as after my first cycle I had lots of aches and pains, the nurses suggested to do them before bed as I won’t notice the aching as I’ll be asleep and it seems to of worked, I take them out the fridge about half an hour before.
I had my hair cut short like you but I think I’ve been lucky with my hair.
The chemo is doable you will know what your cycle is and what side effects after about 3 cycles, I suffered with sickness so I’ve been given strong anti-sickness meds but they can cause constipation so then that’s another problem.
I made a list of my side effects for the pre-chemo nurses and they were so helpful so maybe right down how your feeling.  I hope this helps.
My last xhemo on Friday all the tears came out, as I think i just got my head down and got in with it.

I hope things aren’t too bad for you

    Sasha x
