Hi all. Newly diagnosed with ductal invasive breast cancer grade 3. Got an imaging scan tomorrow then chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy. I’m a nurse and being very practical about it all as I don’t think I will be too good as a patient! Slightly terrified by the whole situation to be honest. Glad you are all here for support
Hi Ejb
Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's perfectly natural that you are slightly terrified by the situation you find yourself in but things should start to get better once you start treatment.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes

Hi, I have the same diagnosis with oestrogen positive and her2 positive, plus gone into a couple of lymph nodes. I also started with chemo 1st and then will have surgery and radiotherapy and also Phesgo injections for a year. I have recently had my 5th cycle so one more left at end of the month and then scan in Nov to see where I'm at.
Good luck on your journey.
Hi Ejb,
I was diagnosed with the same in August, mine is triple negative and I also have the same treatment plan. I’ve got my third chemo session this Thursday. It is terrifying and overwhelming and there’s so much information to go through! I’ve relaxed a little now I know what to expect from chemo but although I know I’m having surgery I don’t know exactly what surgery yet. I’ m a bit of a control freak so the not knowing stresses me out! Good luck with everything
Hiya, I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal, grade 2, HER+ breast cancer with lymph node involvement. Like you, I am having chemo first, followed by mastectomy and radiotherapy. I was part way through my nurse training when this was discovered. It is a big adjustment being a patient, but I am very interested in the tests and procedures. Also, having prior knowledge of the health system makes things a bit less overwhelming. I know it is scary, but things have got easier for me since starting treatment. The waiting part is really, really horrible. I’ve had my first round of EC chemotherapy, which was fairly unpleasant, but not unbearable. I have found being with friends and family has really given me strength and I am blessed to have such good support. I believe it is important to talk about what we are going through and share information. Services like this are really helpful. Where I live, there is also a drop-in centre called Maggie’s, next to the cancer hospital, which has been amazing. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions- let yourself feel what you’re feeling, then let the strength rise. Best of luck, EJB x
