Hi, I'm Alex. My mum has secondary breast cancer which drs don't think will ever be gotten rid of, but is receiving palliative chemotherapy. It's slow moving but has spread a lot. She broke her femur after a very slight fall a few months ago, and from there discovered her bones are very weak due to cancer being throughout her body. She also had some seizures recently one night and was hospitalized. Her mobility is poor and she experiences a lot of pain. Me and my dad help her out as much as we can. I love my mum and want her to be as comfortable as possible. I'm afraid of losing her. I will be the one posting on this account but may pass on messages from my mum if she wants me to.

  • so sorry to hear Alex, sending best thoughts to you and your mum, it is never easy to watch parents or any family go through pain. being there for her is enough hugs

  • My mum says thank you, I also appreciate that

  • Hi Alex

    Stay strong my darling.

Nothing worse than a mum going through this dreadful Big C.

My eldest sister had Bowel Cancer during the Pandemic.

Never really recovered 100% ....then she got the second blow...

    Breast Cancer.

The Chemo makes her so Ill and she's been hospitalised after each session.

They've reduced her Chemo to 75% as her body is frail.

    Please talk to us.

We can't make miracles happen but we can support you the best we can

    Much love to you

  • It's hard to see them suffer and to be in this quandary of how fast or slow things are moving. So many emotions flying around. I felt stressed but tried to support and be relaxed around my Mum. She was 86 and too far gone when when we discovered the extent of her bowel cancer.

She got good pain relief and an abdo drain for her comfort. She had Alzheimer's as well, I had her for a further 10 wks which I will always be grateful for. At least you can share her care with your Dad. I was on my own. Best wishes for a supportive team around you. Xxx

  • Thank you, so sorry to hear that also

  • Thank you for your kind words
