Hi, I was diagnosed with breast cancer 11th Aug and started chemo 4th Sept. It’s been a challenging week so far but maybe be better equipped for next time
Hi, I also had brest cancer it was so quick from having a painful lump which i thought was a swollen gland to diagnosis and breast surgery, the after effects of my first chemo were worst than i ever imagined with the constant nauseous feeling (lucky i wasn't) I think it didnt help as i got myself in such a state mentally about it.
What have your challenges been?
Round 2 tommorow... yes like you better equipped but dreading.it
Hi Lizzy, you are so lucky to live in the countryside! I live in London which makes things worse! Your Archie is absolutely adorable too! Chemo is not easy, I had my second round of AC last Thursday and my hair started falling off last night. I thought I was prepared for that but it hit me hard, I even cried. I have a very supportive family and two grown-up children but it's so hard staying positive! The best of luck with your treatment and let us all hope for the best! xx
Hi Lizzyb, have a word with your oncologist or chemo nurses. They should be able to change or increase your anti sickness meds. I had 2 types and started taking them straight after chemo constantly for 3 days even if I wasn't feeling sick. From what I understand there are lots of different ones so they should be able to find something that will work for you.

Hi Lana65
Sorry to hear your hair is started to fall out. That happened to me after my second dose of AC and though I was prepared for it like you I was upset when it happened. I think it’s because the reality of it is different from the thought of it before it happens if you know what I mean.
Best wishes
Daisy53
So true, Daisy53, it's nothing like I thought it would be! I noticed that you have been on AC and Taxol, 4 cycles of each. My treatment is the same as yours and I'll be having 4 cycles of Paclitaxel every 2 weeks after I finish my AC. There's also an option for having the Paclitaxel on a weekly basis for 12 weeks. It's a dilemma for me. I want to get the whole thing done as quickly as possible but at the same time I'm dreading the possible side ffects of the dense dose. What was your experience? Any thoughts/advice on all pros and cons will be much appreciated! Hug, xx
Def speak to your oncologist and chemo team. Chemo shouldn't be over challenging esp of you get the right medications.
Yes Archie has been a great support, he dont mind when I cry into his fur and comes up for a cuddle at every chance he gets. Sorry about your hair I think the hair coming out is what we all dread the most, I have arranged an appointment for a lady to come to the house and sort me a wig out on the 17th sept is not cheap but worth it to feel normal I have invited some close friends over to help me choose lol... i've cred buckets this last week, I think my anti-depressents didnt work with the anti-sickness and made me feel worse so will pay attention when they give me my next lot and make sure they are compatible otherwise I'll be in a puddle on the floor.
It is hard staying positive especilly when you feel so lousy, but like me now I take 1 day at a time as thats all i can cope with.
Yes lets hope for the best xx
Hi, yes I have now so hopefully it will not be as bad.....
Thanks hugs Liz
