Hi, I’m new here and in shock. Yesterday I had a mammogram, scan and biopsies. I was told “it’s likely cancer” and now have to wait up to 2 weeks for the results.
The lump feels quite large - does that mean it’s bad? I need to stop googling because it’s driving me insane. I don’t know how to get through the next 2 weeks until I find out more. I don’t know what to say to the kids, to my Mum. I can’t eat and haven’t slept last night. It feels like my life has just changed forever.
I don’t know whether to start taking herbal, alternative options such as CBD oil and various other tablets so I fed like I’m proactively doing something. Sorry, I think I just needed to ramble x

  • Hi I know the waiting is awful, but you need to tell your mum so she can support you if there is anything to tell later on. She can let others know, you need to take things slow no more research until you know. They send your results off, then there is a meeting with all the necessary people to discuss your case. Please be kind to you, walk swim listen to music sending you big hugs xx

  • Thank you - you’re right, no more researching. I just need what the plan is to get through this. My Mum is on her own and suffers with anxiety, I don’t think I can tell her until I know more.  I just feel completely blind sided and overwhelmed x

  • Hi do you have a good friend, family member to confide in? Your plan is to be mum the kids will be going to school get their stuff ready. Sort the house, clean tidy do the jobs you put off keep busy. Batch cooking so meals are ready. Sort pack lunch stuff, bake do lots of preparation be ahead of the game. This way you can face what ever the outcome. X

  • After the case meeting, do things tend to happen pretty quickly with treatment? Or are the NHS waiting lists quite long do you know?

  • When you have your appointment you will be told the plan and yes it does move quickly, I got a file to put all my letters in etc to keep everything in one place. Get organised is my tip as a retired teacher it helped me. Take one day at a time x

  • Ramble all you want- whatever gets you through!
We all understand on here and would say - stop googling and don’t start taking anything until you have been seen.

Lecture over . Once you’ve got your results things can move quickly- whichever way.

So get organised as shamyshamybaby suggests, there is lots to do at this time of year.

Give yourself some special time to do whatever you like.

    Best wishes

    xx
