I'm not sure whether it's fine to write about my concern directly in this forum, but I'm currently feeling extremely urgent.

It's been 3 weeks since the initial diagnosis of cancer.

Today, I heard that her Ki-67 is 70%, and the nuclear grade is '3'.

Yes, it's a really, really aggressive form of cancer.

Fortunately, the metastasis doesn't seem to have progressed significantly.

Axillary Lymph node level 1 showed a cortical thickness of 5mm, but nothing more.

Considering the aggressiveness of her cancer, I believe it's a level of miracle.

However, because she's now at a renowned hospital for cancer treatment, she has to wait a long time for the doctor's diagnosis and the actual anti-cancer treatment.

Do you think we should be in a hurry? Like looking for other hospitals or something...

Of course, I'll wait until I receive the doctor's comments, but I'm so nervous now.

Thank you, and I apologize for any shortcomings in my English skills.

  • sorry to hear about your mom, but once you are on a path its probably best to stay on it as starting over might be a few steps back.

its hard to be patient, but it will happen soon. the first part is a lot of waiting to get a plan in place. hugs

  • Thanks. Your words relieve me a lot. I didn't ever know that being patient was this hard

  • Hi Mudhopper, sorry to hear of your mom's diagnosis.  The waiting at the for tests, scans, results, surgery is the worst part at the beginning.

Stay away from Google as the info online can be out of date.  Have a read of people's experiences on here, it's really helped me.  I think there may even be a group for carers and relatives.

Everyones journey is unique but if it helps I was diagnosed Grade 3 and waited about 6 weeks for surgery.  I'm just waiting for the lymph node biopsy results.

    xx

  • Thanks for the advice, I sincerely hope your surgery was successful.

  • Hi I'm sorry you have this news, it's best to stay with your Doctors as the team have discussed your mum's case and treatment going forward. I know the waiting is hard but you are with them now. Did you see a Macmillan nurse at the same time? Call them there is lots of support for you and your mum take care xx

  • I've just searched Macmillan nurse, and it looks like it'll be a great help in understanding the pathology, thank you so much for the valuable information.
