Hi
I hope someone on the forum can offer some info or experience on side effects of Letrozole. Lumpectomy small tumour December 22; radiotherapy March 23; Letrozole since February 23. Experiencing significant joint pain/discomfort including carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger thumb. Does anyone have experience of these symptoms? Do they go away when Letrozole stops or increase with time? I am considering switching to another therapy. Also investigating acupuncture for them carpal tunnel syndrome. Appreciate comments

My knee became very painful and I have osteoporosis. After 3 mths Letrozole I changed to Tamoxifen. They seem to downplay side effects. My Oncologist didn't believe I have osteoporisis even to hough I've had treatment for 2 yrs. They are very powerful figures. I am 66 so Letrozole was the first choice but not right for me.
Hi very similar operations and radiotherapy. Been on letrozole from December then changed last week, I get numb thumbs and my feet. Joint pains, hot flushes, tiredness , let's hope your new tablets work for you. Wishing you well ️

Hi, some people report that they have different side effects with different brands of letrozole, as although the active ingredient is the same, the “fillers” that go into the tablet itself, and it's costing, can are a difference - which is weird, but seems to be true. So it might be worth switching to a different brand. The original licenced letrozole is called Femara, the others are all generics (so copies if you like). Your oncologist or GP might be able to prescribe a specific brand for you. Best wishes
Hi Cheerful, my story is similar to yours just a few months earlier. I have been on Femara since October 22, was also prescribed calcium/vitamin D to take daily. So far I don't seem to have any side effects, well, joints are a bit stiff but no more so than before (I'm 63). Perhaps the calcium is helping?
