Hello , I have joined the group knowing that I am not alone and hope to find comfort and strengh ... Had a lump removed TN aggressive grade 3 .. start chemo in 2 weeks , type 2 diabetic so I know greater risks... very anxious .
Hello there Polly I am waiting for date of mastectomy have two tumours that require removing and am very scared too.
I find this site and members absolutely wonderful and I’m sure you will get some good advice. I’m on beginning of this journey and sending you my very best wishes.
Hi, sorry you find yourself here, but indeed you'll get a lot of support. I noticed you said your chemo starts soon. Here's a link to my blog, it's the stuff I wish I'd known before starting chemo and I hope it's useful. Best wishes
i have diabetes as well. I’m not having chemo, so can’t help specifically on that, but generally 2 operations and radiotherapy have made my diabetes control a bit harder. Keeping your blood sugars within reasonable limits should help with side effects.
You don’t say how your’s is managed, or how well controlled it usually is, but I would recommend getting hold of self testing equipment if you don’t already have it (test strips, or a flash monitor - e.g. freestyle libra)
I didn’t find my diabetic specialist nurse that much help, but your might be more clued up, worth having a chat and seeing what help they can be.
Thank you, I hope to manage it with my metformin , i shall test on a regular basis .
