hi everyone,
as always sending love and strength out to everyone who needs it.
i was diagnosed on the 27th of April, my second oncology appointment is next Wednesday the 7th, praying i get a date to start my treatment, which i think is going to be chemotherapy, full mastectomy and then radiation therapy.
looking to connect with anyone who has a similar diagnosis and dates, i have posted a couple of times on here and can honestly say the last 6 week wait has been awful, had lots of responses on here that have helped, thank you to you all, sleeping tablets, diazepam you name it ive had it.
it has only been the last few days that i have started to feel more like myself and able to take in information, and i have finally today worked out my diagnosis and what it means, i just couldnt take it in before, so i have invasive ductal carcinoma triple negative cancer , hope ive got it right, i feel like ive gone on a bit of a downer the fact its triple negative, i have been told its extensive in the breast and aggressive but then in the same letter it says `looking at curative treatment plan or something like that, am i looking into it too deeply, anyone out here been on the same journey ? just feel sad that im not able to have the hormonal treatment.
i also feel very uncomfortable around my left side and am struggling to wear a bra, this area does not appear to be in the breast area, and no matter how many times they say to me the ct scan came back clear i still cant stop my mind racing that theyve missed something or its spreading.
any advice would be really helpful or anyone whos on or has had a similar type of journey would be so helpful.
thank you xx
Hi Danuta
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I was diagnosed with triple negative over two years ago and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I made a full recovery. Whatever you do don’t google triple negative as the information is out of date by at least five years. Rely on sites like this one and breast cancer now.
Things should start to look up once you know exactly what your treatment plan is. You will be looked after every well by your medical team. I certainly was and I had my cancer during the height of the pandemic.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment. If you would like to know a little more about my journey click on my user name.
Best wishes
