Hi all
I had a callback on Friday from my mammogram which showed up a suspicious area, the Dr did an ultrasound and said he 'didn't like the look of' the 5-6mm lump I have. He did a biopsy and said 'if it is cancer, and I think that's probably what we are looking at here, we've caught it incredibly early and it hasn't spread'. I get my results tomorrow afternoon, am in a state of high anxiety & disbelief. My brother died of ischemic heart disease 2 years ago & I am still reeling from that, he was only 5 years older than me & I've had a difficult time grieving for him & sorting out his estate. Ever since he died I've been worrying about my heart thinking that was what I needed to be concerned about, now this!
Hi Delisha
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you are facing a breast cancer diagnosis. Sorry also to hear about your brother's death. Your reaction is perfectly understandable as facing a cancer diagnosis is scary. Breast cancer is very treatable and you medical team will do everything in their power to get you well.
Wishing you the best of luck with your results tomorrow.
Best wishes

I feel for you. I know it’s a frightening place to be - this early ‘waiting’ stage is the worst. 5-6 mm is very small. My lump was 16mmx16mm and considered small. Im now on a treatment plan - the Dr has told you small, no spread. Honestly you will feel better for knowing exactly what it is and how they plan to treat it.
You have had a trauma on top of a trauma - it’s not surprising you feel anxious. Try to use the morning positively tomorrow - maybe a walk in park? Breakfast in nice cafe? Just to shift the focus a bit before your appointment.
Take someone with you to the appointment and a notebook to write down what you are told.
You have got this and we are here

Thanks for all your messages. I've been diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. I'll have a lumpectomy in the next 4 weeks followed by radiotherapy once the scars have healed. I do feel better for knowing, my mind had gone to all sorts of places thinking how bad it could be but we have a plan now so it's just a case of getting through it.
They really did catch it very early Delisha - I’m so pleased for you about that. Seems like no chemo too - I hope you can sleep tonight knowing you have a plan and that it’s been found at such an early stage.
Time to breathe again - your medical team will do good by you and we are here too.
