I’m starting chemo shortly, does anyone have any recommendations of what I should pack? I’ve already thought water, book, phone, something to eat, hand and face cream, face wipes, hand sanitiser and lip balm.
Hi Louisa1, sorry you are having to have chemo. Are you using the scalp cooling cap? If so you will need to take some leave on conditioner and maybe a snuggly blanket or cardigan. I often take my snuggly cardigan but don’t use it as the chemo units are quite warm. As I am them for quite a while due to my type of chemo I also take my slippers as I don’t like sitting on the cosy chairs with my shoes. I make myself quite at home and snuggly while I’m having my treatment.
Wishing you all the best

Hi, I blogged about all the things I wish I’d known so this might help. Here's the link Chemo blog
best wishes
Thanks so much, hadn’t thought about slippers, but that appeals I’ve decided not to go for the cooking cap. All the best to you too. xxx
I fill my litre flask with hot water and take along my empty hot water bottle which I fill from the flash to have on my lap whilst I do the cold cap as I usually feel a little chilled otherwise.
I also take a hand towel to wrap around my head after the cold cap comes off as I have a 10 min walk home and I put my coat hood up over the towel to keep my head warm until I get home whilst my hair is still damp in colder weather.
Hope it goes well for you. x
