Hello

ive had a recent diagnosis, just last week, HER2+ Ductal stage 3. Been for ultrasound, biopsy, MRI, have another biopsy coming, but expect to start chemo around the 21st March.

feeling sad/ angry/ confused most the time at the moment. It’s going to be a rubbish 36th birthday present as I could be starting on or close to 24th which is my birthday. Also have a 14month old, who I’m so worried I just won’t be able to enjoy the way I should for such a crucial part of his growth, and that’s getting me down.

 Any other soon-to-be-starters?

Any one have any advice on what to buy/ bring to chemo treatment sessions?

  • Hi, I was diagnosed on 10th Feb I have grade 2 BC with a spread to lymph nodes. Got a mastectomy booked for 23rd March, don't know if I will need chemo radio or both. I'm  30 years older than you and my kids are grown so I can totally understand where you're coming from.

I found my lumps Christmas Day..Merry bloody Christmas and an even happier New Year eh? My brain is fried from all the information, questions, thoughts etc..I'm trying to keep my sense of humor but some days it's tough.  It is shit...but out of our hands unfortunately...you have got this! You will get through it! You have your bubba to keep you going! Sending love Heart️

  • So Sorry to hear this, what a shite Christmas for sure!! Must be tricky still not knowing what treatment is coming too, I’ve found the anticipation is horrible and a wormhole of info and overwhelming new things.
sending hugs and strength to you for your op

  • Hi BC 1st timer

Welcome to the forum and sorry to year that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Bring something to keep yourself occupied while undergoing chemo, for example something to read or download a film on your tablet to watch.  Also bring some snacks with you and a bottle of water.  Make sure that you drink plenty while undergoing treatment as it helps prevent side effects.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • Hi I have gone through 2 chemotherapy sessions. I only started in February definitely fear of unknown. I have been very fortunate the only side affects has been slight tiredness which is my normal anyway and hairloss about 2 weeks ago. Chemotherapy just felt cold up my forearm and felt slightly sick sip of water. I was fine hopefully you will be the same.

  • Hey! I’m starting next week. I’m also stage three. Thought I posted here but apparently not. My 46th birthday is on the 21st of March btw. Got an oncologist appointment on that day :p

It’s a rubbish birthday gift indeed and sorry you’re going through it. Hopefully chemo won’t be too bad, keeping fingers crossed myself. On a silly note I got myself a birthday gift I can barely afford to make up. Just finished my second biopsy btw, why are you doing a second one?

  • I had my 1st Chemo yesterday, had cold cap & on FEC-T. Actually went rather well then hit a massive nausea / roller coaster feeling/ vomit session 4 hours later- woke this morning and apart from a dull head I’m ok Slight smile

Just wondering if it’s going to tap on my shoulder at 4pm again today but I’ve taken my meds so it can bugger off!

I’m stage 3, had lumpectomy & full lymph clearance (27 of the blighters & 24 cancerous so think I might be a record breaker!) more surgery after chemo, 2x areas for radiotherapy them hormone therapy

Down on some days but certainly not out, I’m still here

can’t abide people boing nice, makes me cry!

    tough love Two hearts

safe journey to you all, it’s shit but Winston Churchill  said “when in hell, keep going”

  • I am so sorry to hear you are in this situation. I am 37 and completed my 6th round of Chemo in January. While chemo is not easy, it wasn't as awful as I anticipated it to be. I was lucky enough notMuscleo suffer very bad side effects. I got the infusion on a Wednesday every 3 weeks, the two following days I had low appetite and felt quite tired. After that it was back to normal til the next round. Muscle hair unfortunately did fall out. I had been earned it would but I think I was clinging on to the hope it wouldn't. I bought some wigs from a brand called HAIRCUBE on Amazon and I'm very happy with Muscleem. They were about 40 quid each and I prefer them to any other expensive wig I'd tried. They seem more natural and more me which has definitely helped my self esteem and ability to go out / have a Musclermal life. I think the idea of Chemo was scarier for me that the actual experience. I took books, my phone and puzzles with me to each session, LOTS of water and a few snacks. I wish you the very beMuscle, you can do this.

  • I am sorry about the emojis, I put one at the end and they randomly appeared everywhere. I wasn't able to remove them

  • It does that. I sometimes put one smiley it turns my post into a circus Circus tent

  • Thanks for letting me know that. Wow.
