Hello, I am a 39 year old recently divorced, diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma Her2 positive in October. I’m currently going through chemo, lumpectomy scheduled for 4/25 and then radiation and targeted therapy.

  • Hi Hmaland

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. When you feel up to it why not tell us a little bit about yourself so that we can give you the support that you need.  If you click on my name you can find out about my journey with breast cancer.

Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • Hello, I am 55 and had 8.5cmx of cancer removed from my right breast 4 weeks ago, and my amazing surgeon managed to leave me with a very nice size, pert breast  however, cancer was in one of the lymph nodes, so I now need Chemo for 6 months, then Radiotherapy and then an operation to align my left breast.

It's a journey..... one we never want, but once we are in its important to stay positive.

The hardest thing I have found, so far,  was telling family and friends. Also the tiredness and learning to rest and letting others help.  This forum has helped, lots of advise, tips and hints and support

I wish you well on your journey, I am no expert but happy to share my experience, so far.

  • Hi Hmaland, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I too was diagnosed with idc and HER2 positive and hormone positive. I was lucky enough my tumour was small so I had surgery first. It has spread to my lymph nodes too so I had to have those removed. If you click on my name you can read about my diagnosis and journey so far.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.
