Hi all

Had my last chemo on 29th December glad it was over was not easy to say the least especially getting covid on chemo no 5 i found keeping a diary each month helped me when I looked back on how I felt I was hoping I would get some energy by now or am I being impatient every thing is still an ordeal I do a bit sit down a bit it's a task to sort my  horses my legs arms and neck are hurting maybe a build up of toxins from chemo has anyone got any tips to help me get rid of this fatigue sorry to moan but I'm so fed up want to get my old self back thanks for reading big hugs xx

  • It can take about a year to get over the effects of chemo, though of course you feel better during that time. I had my operation 4 weeks after chemo finished and I remember thinking that I could have managed a slow, short jog at about 2 weeks after surgery if I hadn't had the surgery, so my energy only started coming back at about 6 weeks.

When I spoke to my oncologist about continued water retention 5 months after chemo finished, he said it was still early days.

  • I also had my op about 4 weeks post chemo and yes it takes time to get rid of the fatigue.
it will happen so sorry you have to be patient. Do a bit and relax - don’t overdo it - your body will tell you !

    xx

  • Bless you Pray thanks for getting back to me its put my mind at ease be good to get rid of my water retention too take care and thanks again xx
