Scared to start chemotherapy
Chemotherapy has a reputation for everyone the way it effects them is different but don’t presume it will be horrific
medication has come on such a long way so most side effects can be dealt with.
personally I managed to work full time , walk my dog and ride my horse with minimal effects. My best bits of advice is don’t Google if you do stay of American websites their practices are different. Talk to people and always take one walk a day even if it is to the corner of your street.
Hi Jellyfish, I agree with Dc6. Chemo is different for everyone it will be designed for you and your cancer. I am normally tired for a few days after treatment but I still keep going and rest in between. I do have a couple of days where I have sore skin and some aches in my bones and muscles but that’s possibly a side effect of a blood boosting injection I have. From about day 7 I start to feel like my normal self again.
If you do Google anything stick with Macmillan or Cancer Research UK or Breast Cancer Now org. Other sites can be out of date or yes like Dc6 mentions the American website have different practices to us.
Wishing you the best on your journey.

Wow love that reply. I had one of those days yesterday. Couldn't sleep the night before, 2 reasons my son had 2 seizures in 6 days and I'm working up to seeing Oncologist on Tuesday. Been reading these messages too much as well.
Your is full of hope similar to Cuffcake2000. I think must have been a bit dehydrated or something my legs didn't seem to want to work. Stress has that effect maybe. Today is a better day. Thankyou. I hope to keepdancing and walking. Brilliant!!!!
Hi Jellyfish I agree with both Dc6 & Cuffcake, everyone reacts differently & any side effects will be closely monitored by your onco team. I’ve had 4 lots of EC which I pretty much sailed through with hardly any side effects. The anti sickness drugs really work & I’ve not once felt sick. You will likely feel more tired but I’ve been able to carry on wfh & still cook & do the odd social occasion without too many issues. Hopefully you won’t suffer too bad either. Good luck xx
I have just completed my last 6th dose of chemo 3 weeks ago. I have not lost all my hair, although it is a lot thinner, and apart from 1 day of feeling poorly, I have carried on with everyday life. If you suffer in any way at all, tell the treatment team straight away and they will do all they can to alleviate any symptoms. PMA goes a long way too
