Hi,
I am posting this on behalf my mum.
She is 55 & has just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, although the lump has been removed and she is awaiting chemo the stats online for this particular cancer returning seems higher than some of the other breast cancers which is terrifying her.
Is there anyone else out there with triple negative breast cancer?
Or anyone who has recovered and surpassed the 5 years?
Hope to hear from you soon.
How lovely,
I agree about the little things. A Robin singing or the snowdrops here are such an uplift. We ve been a lot to Estapona, south of Malaga. I hear the Spanish med system is very good. A friend who lives nearer Granada has just got all clear from lung cancer and had excellent care. I guess your alternative practitioner is Spanish? Is it easy to find good people there?
I'm off for a chemo dose today. Only 1 more weekly one after this, then 9 weeks of 3 different cycles.
Wishing you some joy today
Watching things growing does bring hope, this is the real new year for me. Having a bit of work done on our front garden. We might go for grass rather than paving stones and plant snowdrops in it maybe for next year. I do like fuschious ( can't spell it)? They remind me of fairies. Might have to start growing carrots and potatoes with all this rationing they are talking about. Not so warm yet but getting better all the time. Hope and prayers we are doing the same. Be in our floral summer dresses in a few months. I'm a jeans person really. Xxx
Hi I'm not triple neg but I'm 66 and hear you. Go with the treatment and maybe forget the stats. It's a real energy sapping thing. I just want to get well and appreciate what I have. No matter how long I have it for. Hope is eternal. I know it sucks getting this diagnosis I am not dismissing your concerns, it's heartbreaking and I know about heart break. My son nearly drowned having a seizure whilst swimming last year. I've had so many wake up calls.
I want to live to support him and his carers. My husband too although I have overlooked his feelings he knows the pecking order. I start radiotherapy tomorrow, I had my surgery in Dec. Stage 2, grade 2 now taking Letrozole for 5 yrs. I'm now more aware of the other breast, just ignored them for years and then this. X
For sure, a wee beach walk today and a chilly paddle in the sea…tried to persuade my dogs to join me but not happening! The care here is good, just a bit disjointed. I had my mammogram early November, op mid January and oncology appointment on Friday to discuss treatment plan. Poco a poco they say here! I’ll get there in the end.
I love Estepona, the old part is really lovely.
Good luck with your chemo, hope all goes well xx
Looking at the news today, it does seem like there’s a veg shortage. I think we have it all in Spain. All local and delicious.
we only have a couple of terraces but very well planted out with flowers, trees etc. I even have a lemon tree in blossom, looking promising for a wee slice in a gin and tonic later this year xx
