Good morning
I had a lump removed in 1993 along with a Auxiliary clearance and radiation. Luckily all good. I had implants but had them removed and five years ago I had a fat transfer performed over three years to get volume back into my breast. I’m have always had discomfort at the right side behind the arm pit , a sensitive sensation, and occasional stabbing pain Apparently this is normal bit feel like I have fluid there and that awful sensation of sensitive to touch is now effecting my back area below the shoulder. Has anyone here experienced this OR similar all these years down the line ? I. Guessing this will never go away and will always be there as a gentle reminder I would appreciate your thoughts .
Hello Diane111 I am new to this as well. I am 13 days post op from wide excision lumpectomy and full axillary node clearance. Early days I know. The wounds are lumpy and the arm pit swollen and pain down the nerve in my arm. I am doing the arm exercises which hurt in the upward position. Walking is my thing, I have to get distraction and some kind of normality. The exercise is supposed to help the pain they say. I get my results in Jan, mine is grade 2 but invasive.
I have some friends who are years down the line from this and just getting on with the altered life. Can you lift your arm up properly. Mine is hampered by something I just wonder if it will improve as the scar eases. So many questions I need to ask them. I just want to stay alive to help my son. I don't even know if they got a clear margin yet. I haven't got any answers for you but as u are new here too thought I would respond. X
Hi early days but yes I have great movement. I was told to keep moving it up and down slowly as I was afraid scar tissue would form and make it harder. I had trouble with fluid and had to have the site drained a few times . I have always had numbness there but a few years ago most of the feeling came back and I was able to scratch my itch !
thank you for responding and I am grateful , even after all this time, for every day. And so glad I found this group
