Hey, I’m new here today.
I found out 4 weeks ago that I had breast cancer and start treatment next week.
I start with 18 weeks of chemo - once every three weeks. Lots more treatment after that but one step at a time.
How have people felt after chemo, I know we all react differently but an insight into this would maybe settle some anxiety I have.
I’m new too. I had 1st round of chemo 2 weeks ago. Same as you 3 weeks 6 rounds. I was rough for a week dodgy tummy sore mouth only mild not terrible. Drank lots of water multi vits and fine now energy back for next week round 2. I’ve had craniotomy and radiotherapy for brain metastasis and breast/lymph in last 3 months absolute rollercoaster but if I can carry on like this 1st round it won’t be too bad you’ve got this xxx
Hi 123Nikki
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you, have been diagnosed with breast cancer and need chemo. I didn’t react to badly to chemo. While I won’t say it’s easy it is doable. Drink plenty of water and try and get out in the fresh air as much as possible even it’s only for a short walk. I got out most day during my treatment and I believe that’s why my side effects weren’t too bad.
Wish you the best of luck and may the side effects be kind to you.
Best wishes

Hi, I’ve been through the lot and have only just decided to communicate with others, I thought I might help after all it’s nice to have another reason to go through this. I’m stage 4 and you wouldn’t know by looking at me and I’ve been smiling and surviving over five years with this diagnosis.
Chemo is weird. For me o felt fine on the one e hand and awful at the same time. It crept up on me slowly. I had 26 weeks of chemo. 4 of EC over a 12 week period followed by 4 of paxitaxl (??) By the end I was definitely ready to stop. Just before chemo started I was also diagnosed with arthritis and that kicked on about 3 weeks after the chemo so took me a bit longer to recover. I think it's fair to say that my fatigue lasted a good 12 months
I'm now 18 months post treatment
.I hope hope that helps but, as you sat, everyone is different. Wishing you all the best xx
