Recently diagnosed stage 2 invasive lobular

Hi everyone  , this is my first post 

 I had a hardening in my breast back in April which I thought was possibly another cyst needing draining but had my routine mammogram around the same time so I didn’t get it checked - it came back clear which was odd but I went along with it.

 I started noticing physical changes a few months later so I went back, had an ultrasound and biopsy which they diagnosed last month as stage 2 invasive lobular. I’ve had my MRI which also shows at least a second tumour and possibly other areas of concern. I’m having a single mastectomy shortly - I wanted a double (I have significant family history) but because that breast is clear they won’t touch it yet until all my treatment is done in case I get an infection for an unnecessary op which delays any chemotherapy which makes sense but I’ll also be having that removed next year. I’m seeing the surgeon again Tuesday to go over the operation. I’m having the gene test and they’re also doing the Oncotype test for a recurrence score to determine chemotherapy and it’s likely I’ll be having radiotherapy.

We’ve opted for the inflatable implant just in case I do have to have radio so that will be done at the same time and be replaced with a permanent implant and the same time they remove the other breast next year.  

I can live with that, I’m just so grateful but the waiting is the worse.  I’ve been keeping super busy making soups for later on and seeing friends and I’m keen to just get going. I’m trying to keep fit and healthy ready for the op and eating well (also having the odd glass of wine to keep me sane - with the approval of my oncologist!)
