Hi, just wandering how long people generally wait for surgery after receiving diagnosis and plan to operate? Looking at comment's on here, some people seem to get a date for surgery within 28 days after diagnosis and surgeon has agreed to operate. Just wandering how the waiting time has been for others. Thank you
no more than 2 months (62 days) wait between the date the hospital receives an urgent referral for suspected cancer and the start of treatment. no more than 31 days wait between the meeting at which you and your doctor agree the treatment plan and the start of treatment.
I guess they have met this as according to
my BCNS I have strayed treatment , which is the letrozole ( which i on on day 8 and feel like I have been hit by a bus )
my body has a aching in places I didn’t know it could ache . I take them at night , not sure whether to change the time of day I take them, maybe it will make a difference if I take in the morning and am active all day , May reduce the stiffness .!!
Hi jelly tots..I was diagnosed on the 13/08/21 was due to have surgery on the 5/9/21 but I took covid and op was put off til 18/10/21. I was diagnosed with grade 3 stage 1 DCIS ER+ & PR+.. I had chemo after ops and radiotherapy. Good luck and try to keep busy while you wait for treatment..xx
Hi Lazy Daisy
your right!! I'm more than shocked
I seriously can't get my head around how they feel it's absolutely OK to leave you so long for surgery with only Letrozole as your first line of defence
I hope you get some answers from your BCN today! I've had my case transferred now to a different hospital. I've really got my fingers crossed for you xxx
Hi Deeds
Sorry Covid got in the way of your operation. Glad you're on the road to recovery & hope all is going well for you now xxx
I'm sorry to hear this. I really can't get my head around how they are using Letrozole as their get out of jail card. It's surgery you need. Good Luck, I'm thinking of you xxx
Hi StillinShock
Many thanks for sharing your Journey. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis but I'm glad that you were looked after so well. I hope you're feeling OK after your radiation treatment and best wishes you for a good recovery

Just had a call the earliest they can do
it is the 21st but not definite as they need two surgeons . One on each boobie one doing the mxt one doing the reduction .
My BCNS assured me the tumour is being starved of eastrogen and not growing .
so the 28th it remains .

Awww at least your BCN has offered you some reassurance that your tumour won't be growing. Good luck with your operation and a quick recovery. I will be thinking about you Xxx
