Hello, I'm new to this forum.  Eight weeks ago I found a lump in my left breast and so far have had breast conservation surgery with removal of the sentinel lymph node for biopsy.  The surgery was successful on the breast as the tumour was completely removed with a good margin, and I'm left with a designer bosom Slight smile. Unfortunately a high number of cancer cells were found in the lymph node, so I am returning for more surgery to remove all the other lymph nodes very soon.  I have received very caring and professional treatment and support from my local hospital for which I am very grateful.  \when we need our NHS we really need them don't we?  I also have access to a very lovely Macmillan nurse attached to the unit.  I'm feeing very positive so far, and have found that the information on this website is very good, and the forum stories and comments so helpful too.  I find the most difficult thing has been the period waiting for test results.  L

  • I think everyone on this forum will agree with you the waiting really plays mind games with you. Kind regards

  • Yes, its inevitable isn't if?  It's good to be on this forum and remind myself that its not just me.  I try to fill the time by seeing/contacting friends and family, doing things I enjoy and planning a trip and activities after treatment.  Eating well and getting out and about each day helps too. Its still early days for me, so I feel well between surgeries.  xx
