HER2 +++ with multiple nodes affected

Hi all

I have HER2 +++ Grade 3, Stage 3 BC which is locally advanced in multiple lymph nodes. I also have a pancreatic cyst, unfortunately the type most likely to turn malignant, so Upper GI MDT will check that again next year.

Would really like to 'meet' other HER2 patients seeing as I have had to learn how breast cancer is a collection of different diseases, and those of us with HER2 are dealing with an aggressive sort aren't we, but at least now with monoclonal antibodies available.

Treatment plan:

  • EC Chemo for 4 cycles
  • Paclitaxel 12 weekly sessions (4 cycles)
  • Phesgo 3-weekly for a year
  • Mastectomy and lymph node clearance
  • radiotherapy daily for 3 weeks
  • depending on histology either Kadcyla or Phesgo

treatment pancreatic cyst as yet unknown

I have completed the EC chemo part, and am going to start Cycle 2 of Pacli & Phego next week. Missed Day 8 Pacli due to low WBC, but ok again last week.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • Hi Garage Yoga, sorry no one has replied to you, thiss should get you bumped up to the top in the hope that you will get releevant answers.  Love from Ann

  • Same! I have found paxi to be a walk in the park compared to Ec, so hopefully you will be similar. Did you have an mri after your ec? Hold on to every positive- the drugs for her2+ are  a game changer nowadays!

  • Hi nikknok

    Thanks for your reply.

I also found paclitaxel much easier the first two times, but I got anaphylaxis the 3rd time which was the day before yesterday and absolutely horrible.

There weren't any doctors there to prescribe it, but matron said they won't be retrying pacli, so I will be switched to Abraxane. Not sure when I will need to go back for that, once an oncologist has heard about my anaphylaxis I suppose and ordered it.

Yes, I had an MRI after EC. Apparently it had had some positive effects, but my cancer is locally advanced and has reached multiple nodes. Still, EC did something so that was good. Did it do anything for you?

We are at least fortunate to have the MABs aren't we, thank goodness. Are you also on Phesgo?

How far are you in your treatment plan?
