Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Caranoma on 1st October following a call back from a routine mammogram.

I had a lumpectomy and sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy on 28th October and am now waiting for my follow up appointment. I m healing well physically other than abit of tenderness, achy arm and tiredness, emotionally is a different conversation!

I m currently spending my days reading, watching Netflix, cuddling my two dogs and doing a few light jobs around the house.

  • Hi Maggie,  welcome to the forum.  Glad to hear that you are healing well.  When is your follow up appointment, do you know what treatment you will be having?  I had same surgery as you and then had chemo, radiotherapy and tamoxifen.  I would say the best piece of advice is to try and keep to your normal routine as much as possible.  It worked for me and helped me to feel a bit more in control.  I found my dogs are such a source of comfort and walking them every day definitely helped me.  Enjoy your cuddles.

  • Hi Lee

I waiting for my follow up appointment to come through. The lymph nodes looked clear on the mammogram so unless anything has changed they have said no chemo, radiotherapy then hormone blockers.  I m going back to work next Wednesday on reduced hours so looking forward to that.

Dogs are great therapy and glad you get comfort from walking yours. Thanks for the advice x

  • Hello. Welcome to the forum.
It sounds as though you are doing well. Keep going.
I agree to keep your routine as much as you can. It does help.
Good luck with going back to work.
