Hi, can anyone recommend a travel insurance company post mastectomy surgery but I’m awaiting a treatment plan I.e. chemo &/ or radiotherapy. Surgeons have confirmed I can travel. Many thanks in advance

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

You may also like to join the  travel insurance group where you'll find lots of recommendations for travel insurers to try.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined have a look through the threads there called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' and Recommended travel insurance 2023-24', which you'll find on the first page. They are full of recommendations from other cancer patients who have got travel insurance.

I used goodtogoinsurance.com after I'd had a lumpectomy but I'd also finished all my treatment, ie chemo and radiotherapy before I went on holiday so don't know if they cover people still waiting for treatment.

    Wishing you all the best

  • Thank you, I’ve used Albert& Eddie from looking at this forum

  • Ive use goodtogo insurance twice recently.  My treatment had just finished tho.  But what they mainly wanted to know was if I had refused any treatment.   I've used them pre "C" too, and the premiums were still competitive post diagnosis.

Enjoy your trip. Itvwill be a nice boost x

  • I had a very reasonable quote from Insurewith. It was 10% of the cost of the first quote I got! And I visited the USA where insurance can be expensive. I applied online and the form was lengthy and detailed but at least I felt I was fully insured as I had the opportunity to disclose everything. I travelled between finishing chemo and having surgery. Good luck and hope you have a lovely break away.

  • Hi MME Insurancewith is the best I found.  I have secondary cancer and am currently having treatment.  It is very hard to get insurance with incurable cancer but they were so good in September when we went to Portugal.  It was £289 for an annual multi trip policy for my husband and myself.  Enjoy your holiday x
