Hi all,
.I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma at the end of June 22 and had a mastectomy on the 6th of September.
At the same time they had removed the sentinel limp node for biopsy.
Unfortunately that show cancer cells and i had limp nodes axila clearance on the 27 of September.
I'm struggling with the pain and very scared on developing limphodema.
Anyone in similar situation?I will have also a full bone marrow CT scan to see if had spread anywhere .else .
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi Lili27
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer and that you are struggling with pain. While I haven't been in a similar situation I thought I'd reply to you to welcome you to the forum.
Best of luck with your CT Scan.
Best wishes

Hi Lili27
Sorry that you find yourself here but I just want to say that I have also been in a similar situation. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer in October 21. Following this, I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node removal with the result being cancer in 2 of the nodes. I also had a CT Scan which didn't show any spread. In January I had full lymph node clearance showing 6 more affected nodes and sadly no clear margin. I then had chemo and another lumpectomy which was, fortunately, clear this time I was also in pain after the lymph node clearance and spoke to the breast care nurse who gave me painkillers which really helped along with doing the exercises and resting. The pain is hard at first after the node clearance but honestly, it does get better. You have only just had the operation so rest is really important and the exercises will help to keep lymphodema away. Don't expect too much of yourself at first because it really does get better. For me the key was painkillers, exercises and rest. I binge-watched Downton Abbey (I'm not pushing this as a way of getting better) and stayed on the sofa for a few days. I hope that you feel better soon.

Hi Jane,.
Thank you so much for your advise ,can't really do much at this point just rest and painkillers.
So glad to hear that you had the all clear and that it does get better .
I'm very scared for the CT results but fingers crossed one step at the time .
Will stay in touch x
