Hi all
My partner is 7 days into her chemotherapy for DCIS and will be starting the injection to boost wbc count very soon. I understand that everyone is different but wondered if anyone has has to do this and what can we expect.
Thanks
I found it easier to get my husband to do it for me whilst I pinched the skin. They made me quite achy and uncomfortable. They particularly hit anywhere with arthritis and also gave me tinnitus. Ibuprofen helped. The aches were a little less with each day and also worse on the 1st cycle. They were for me the worst aspect of EC. I found the best time to do them was late afternoon / early evening as it took a few hours for the aches to build up. I was very glad to seethe back of them.
Hi there,
I had to give myself the injections too and although they were never pleasant, once I was in a routine, it wasn't as bad as I had expected. I did find I was a little bit clumsy to begin with.
It certainly gave me some aches in my legs, and I found heat pads and gentle walking very helpful alongside the normal pain killers.
I wish your partner all the best.in all her treatment.
