Hello.
I am a 35 year old mum of 3.
On the 18th of August my world was turned upside down.
I had ignored the painfull lump in my right breast for months before finally getting it checked.
I was reassured by the nurse that it's probably nothing to worry about as cancer is usually painless. She referred me to the hospital where I saw the consultant who also assured me that it's probably a cyst before sending me to another room for my ultrasound.
Then, I needed a mammogram, then biopsies. Two hours later my consultant told be that this was not a straight forward lump and I was looking at Cancer. This was confirmed the following week when the results came back as a grade 3 ductal cancer.
I have since been for an MRI which has flagged up a couple of other things. Now awaiting CT scan.
I am absolutely terrified and wish I had of had that lump checked sooner.
Hello ROO2002,
So sorry you find yourself here but you are in good hands now and you will be cared for .
Try not to beat yourself up, you are human and you did check it even though everyone else told you you have probably nothing to worry about..
Sending you love and a big hug, I know how hard it is to take it in, once you’ll know a bit more and you will have a treatment plan you will feel more comfortable with it all x
Hi Roo2022, I was diagnosed with DCI grade 3 on the 13th August 2021, I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node removed.Node was clear. I was to have radiotherapy after that but my consultant wanted to send a sample of my biopsy to America to have a test called oncotype DX score done and that would let them know if I had to have chemo or not. My score came back high at 31 and was told it was aggressive so I had to have chemo too.. I'm through all treatment now and doing well. Its very easy for people to say not to worry, you'll be thinking the worst as I did not knowing what I was about to go through..You'll be able to deal with it once you know what your treatment plan is..I hope all goes well for you and that you have plenty of support . Good luck and big hugs xx
