Hello to all

I was diagnosed 3 days ago with no symtons or lumps no history of breast cancer in my family

I was shocked as I'm still in my forties

I have been bombarded with appointments and do t know where my head is at

Is there any advice

  • Hi

Sorry you find yourself here, there really is a lot of ladies on here who are really supportive and I found the site to be so helpful so your in the right place. Blush

The waiting for a plan is often the hardest part of it all! Once you know exactly what is going on you will feel so much better and more in control.

Have you been told the type of tumour? Or any other info?

I was 39 at diagnosis so also really shocked, although my mum had had DCIS in her early 60’s it was still highly unlikely.  I have since had genetic testing and I don’t have the faulty genes and was told it was just a coincidence! (And bad luck!!)

The best advice I can offer is to stay off Google, keep busy- I found exercise a good choice of distraction and come here to chat with others that know exactly what your going through.

    One step at a time - take care. K  x x x

  • No information as yet staging is on Friday only went to the doctors for a red rash on my right breast had appointment for scan

So I went from having mammo scan biopsy to be being told I had breast cancer all in one and half hours since then been completely swamped in appointments emotions

    1. I'm a strong women but scared what the staging will be
  • That is completely normal, I think we are all scared of those result appointments- the not knowing - it really is awful and at times suffocating. It’s really good that they got all that testing done at once-  some people have to wait in between!
Breast cancer really is very treatable now so try and focus on that. You can and will get through this x
