Hi Lady and a very warm welcome to the club that none of us wanted to join! It’s a great place for support and shared experiences. I had invasive cancer so not quite the same as you, but the treatment may be similar. If you click on our usernames you can read our profiles, and you may want to fill yours in as things progress for you but it’s optional! Have you a treatment plan yet? It can feel tortuous, waiting for tests, results and appointments, somehow it seems to feel better once things start ‘moving forward’.
I’ll tag Grogg (hope you don’t mind Grogg!) as I know that she also had DCIS.
Good luck with it all, sending love and a big virtual hug your way, HFxx
Hello and welcome. Thanks for tag HappyFeet1
I know you probably in shock and feeling panicked but we are here to support and help xx
In May 2015 age 51 I was recalled from my first rountine screening mammogram for 2 areas of calcification (10mm & 5mm). I was diagnosed with intermediate grade DCIS in the 10mm area only. The smaller area was benign. I had a WLE (lumpectomy) in the July July15 sessions of radiotherapy in September. 11mm high grade DCIS was final diagnosis after surgery. I did not require chemo or hormone therapy. I had annual mammograms for 5 years then in 2021 I had my first routine screening. Despite a recall all was ok.
Have you had a provisional treatment plan yet or are they still doing tests.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
