Hi I'm AJ was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer on 4 April 2022 had a mastectomy on 30th May.
Nearly 8cm tumour removed.
Now on Chemo and feeling like I've been run over by a bus.
Going to be a long journey but I will get there.
Best wishes

Hi AJ, well done on getting through your first chemo session. I had my first one 9 days ago and still feel pretty rough but it effects people differently especially depending on what drug / cocktail of drugs you are on. Make sure to rest when you need to and drink plenty of fluids x
Well done at getting through the first one. It's helpful to keep a note of your side effects as subsequent chemo often follows a similar pattern. Best wishes
Hiya AJ, so sorry to hear you are having a rough time! I completely sympathise with you as I had my first EC chemo on 3/8 and my first two daysI felt fine just a little tired and then BAM day 4 I felt exactly as you describe like I had been hit by a bus and then reversed back over for good measure! I really didn’t expect to feel so rough and could barely get myself up, horrendous headaches, dizziness, acid reflux a total out of body experience. But slowly by day 7/8 the fog lifted and now on day 9 I feel good again ready for the 2nd onslaught next week (8 cycles every two weeks) but at least knowing what I might need to expect. My oncologist has extended my steroids so I can wean off after day 3 rather than just stop and added some antacid tablets to help with the reflux! I wish you a speedy recovery from your first round and hope if it follows the similar pattern as mine there really is light at the end of that very scary tunnel. Sending you a big hug xxx

I remember my 1st session, I’m now on my 4th this week! I just take one day at a time and go with the flow, I’m same as you, 6 sessions in total every 21 days, can’t believe the end is in sight and it will be for you too, it’s amazing how quick the next one comes round, good luck & take care xx
It’s not been pleasant but manageable, I just listen to my body, worse part was losing my hair but once it started coming out I took control and had it shaved off, I’ve got scarves for indoors and a lovely wig for going out, it takes me 2 secs to put it on now lol! I’ve actually had a few people comment how nice my hair looks, the wigs today are amazing xxx
I dont doubt, As long as it is manageble I can deal with that, I always had very short hair as my hir gets very curly and never apprecaited it Covid it. Hair grew pass the messy stage and got to I have finally embraced my natural curls. Dammit. I was just going to see what happens then have it cut/shaved and go with the flow. Had a bot of wobble when I got ot the session yesterday and tried the cold cap which I initially was not going to do. No gurantees I know but I can say I tried and it was not that. I have looked scarves, hats etc. Not sure about a wig but a friend of mine has alopecia and she has amazing wigs short , long and different colours. All amazing. Benefits quicker to get ready right. Try new colour Save money on cuts and colour. Shampoo and conditoner. Every cloud xx

I feel almost human again today day 7.
I keep on fancing puddings I'm not normally a pudding person lol
I have 7 rounds of chemo 6 now 4 EC then three rounds of red devil
I'm allergic to absolutely everything so I was thinking I would have a bad reaction to chemo hopefully they will give me steroids before next time (30th)
I'm hear if you need to chat about side effects etc
Love AJ XXXX
