Are u able to get help with dental care while haveing chemo .
I think only if you are on other financial support benefits. Your medical exemption certificate doesn't cover it. It might be worth checking with your dental surgery. x
Only if you are income related benefits like ESA or Universal credit… if your are on contribution based no you don’t get free dental care.
in January this year I had treatment to a tooth in order to consider the Zolandronic Acud which has been on hold over 18 month due to Covid.
last week I got a letter from the NHS dental exemption team, stating I owed them £381.. ..( of which £100 is a fine)
I found out the hard way that being on contribution based ESA I was not exempt, and that the Exemption card was indeed for prescriptions only…..
it was heartbreaking to say the least…more so because I still have the original toothache…..and the delay is just postponing the idea of the additional cancer treatment…
before you start any dental treatment take whatever DHSS / Benefit letters you have and show the dentist….
don’t get caught out like me
regards
