Just wanted to say hello and thanks in advance for all the help and support I feel I will find on this site. Having been diagnosed with lobular breast cancer back in February, fortunately picked up early from a routine mammogram, I  have my lumpectomy surgery coming up this Tuesday. I have already been put on letrozole, which was how I found this forum. I was trying to work out which of the weird symptoms are normal. At 63 I have already gone through menopause, so was a bit disheartened to find the hot flushes are back!  And now I have read something about avoiding grapefruit juice? Anyone know what that’s about? Not that it’s a particular favourite but it would be just like me to suddenly get a craving now!

luck an best wishes to everyone out there.

    Hi Jo

Yes, all went well thank for asking. I feel a bit of a fraud actually for doing so well with it…so far. Lots of time having wires etc put in, before the actual surgery, but, once in, all went pretty fast. Got home about 6pm, and not much pain to speak of. No painkillers required. Even got my bra on today without much discomfort. Just a wait now until 17th June for results. Going to be a long three weeks I think. How about you? Got a follow up appointment yet. I was actually sitting in recovery wondering how you were doing! Upward and onward.

  • Hi Vonny, great to hear you're doing well, I've managed the arm exercises and a short walk today so can't complain. Slept in a bra and managed to change to a fresh one so feeling secure and supported.

My team were lovely and very reassuring so that was good. My follow up is 2 weeks tomorrow Fingers crossed

    Take care and stay strong,

    Jo X
