Is anyone struggling with this condition.

Hi But welcome to the forum. After my Lumpectomy and SNLB I developed Lymphodema n the breast. I was sent to a therapist who did massage to move the lymph fluid and she also strapped up the breast which helped enormously. I'm not sure if your Breast Service has this service available, but it is worth asking if this is happening for you.
Hi, I have lymphedema in my right breast after lumpectomy, removal of lymphe nodes & radiotherapy. IV been shown lymphe drainage massage, also wear an insert in my bra that massages area whilst wearing it. Try not to worry too much, but spend 5 minutes twice a day to massage the area & you'll notice the difference. I still get some stinging & pain, but I keep up with the massage as much as I can. If your unsure call the breast nurses, they are there to advise & help x
Where did you buy the insert for massage please? I thought it may help with pain which is sometimes fairly strong but generally manageable. I do regular lymphatic drainage exercise which does help.
Hiya, it's been such a long time since iv been on the forum. I went for an appointment to see the Lymphedema nurse & she got me the insert & tape, theyve made a massive difference. Hope you got some advice, Iv also been diagnosed with Sjogrens Disease, the fatigue is overwhelming some days. Hence lack of response to messages on here, take care xx
Thanks for the info. I must say my lymphedema nurses have not been very helpful, just told me to take paracetamol more often, wear the sleeve and do the exercises! Sorry about your Sjogrens disease, the doctor thought I may have it but blamed everything on eye drops for glaucoma and Letrozole. Ah well, that's life! I think we get used to just putting up with everything!
I will get back to Sirona and see if they have any better advice. Thanks for your help and hope you will feel a little better soon. Take care, xx
You are lucky to have lymphedema nurses! My GP and my breast care team say they don't know of any lymphedema service. I can't quite believe it so am persevering via other channels having spoken to someone in Breast Cancer Now.
We are lucky in Bristol to have Sirona nurses and are able to see them if we have major problems but there doesn't seem to be much that they can do except supply compression sleeves when needed. Keep battling, I'm sure that there are other avenues open to you, just need to find them.
Good luck with that.
