Hello everyone
I was diagnosed with micro-calcifications behind areola on 16th Feb. Loads of biopsies later with no success a lumpectomy was performed on 24th March to remove them. There has been a delay in getting results because covid has hit the hospital path lab so finally got a letter through for 25th (delay because of Easter too). I’ve been told the results need to be discussed at MDT meeting before they release them but getting the letter has now cranked up edginess and anxiety. I’ve had some smashing 2 days and now feel I don’t want the results which is stupid but think I will join the club that no one wants to be in. Someone please help
Hi Tru1234
Welcome to the forum and sorry that you have joined the club that nobody wants to be in. This is the worst part of the process the waiting for results but once the results are in and you have a plan of action from your medical team things should start to improve.
While you are waiting for your results try to keep yourself busy by doing the things that you love to do.
Wishing you the best of luck with your results on the 25th.
Best wishes

Hi Daisy53
Thank you so much for your quick response.
oh boy this is such a tough path to walk. I have been gardening for the past two days in the sunshine so that helped but because of the letter received it brought it all back to the forefront of my mind.
I am sure it will be better once I know what’s happening. It is nice to have someone to chat too who knows what it’s like x
Hi Tru1234,
I am sorry you find yourself here. I think there have been delays recently with covid and of course Easter holidays. I was in similar situation over Christmas having had biopsy 20th December. It’s important your MDT team meet and agree the best treatment (if needed) for you.
Sadly I think all of here have at one point been waiting for results and outcomes of MDT.
All I can say, is as Daisy says keep busy and try not to think about it.
Good luck for 25th, I’m back 26th for next plan!
Best wishes, Karen
Hello. That's a long delay. If I'm reading right you haven't had a diagnosis of cancer as breast calcifications can be benign or malignant. I had two areas of calcifications biopsied in 2015, one 5mm area was benign and the 10mm area that was intermediate grade DCIS on biopsy was 11mm high grade DCIS after surgery.
All results, malignant or not are discussed at MDT meeting as many like to closely monitor breast calcifications in case they change . I was recalled at my Y 6 mammogram as they wanted a closer look to see if any changes from 6 years prior,
Hello Carol
Yes you are right there is still no diagnosis. But we have had several conversations which they have mentioned that it looks like early cancer. Mine was 7 x 17mm linear microcalcifications. Because there is still no defined answer I am so hoping that it’s benign. I am very thankful that hopeful they are out.
I find it staggering and inspirational how everyone has stayed so strong when somethings all I want to do is curl up in the corner and shut out the world.
I am so grateful for the responses from everyone and will take on board everything that is said.
Trudy
