I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year . It was early stage so I had a wide local excision to remove the tumour in July '21 and then 2 weeks of radiotherapy. I am on anastrozole and AdCal tablets. I suffer from fatigue and loss of interest in doing things. I have pains in my arms and joints but I also have osteoarthritis which doesn't help. Any tips on how have more energy and to get interested in things again? I'm 65 years old
Hi nz gal ,I think your very brave,.say positive things to yourself and try to enjoy fresh air and small things that make you feel good .Nice.smelling candles,? Then you can build onto bigger things .I know you probably realise a different diet or different foods also help .try and speak to someone with some more knowledge about this .take care xx
Your welcome. Hope I take a leaf out of my own book xx
Hello NZgal, I'm 51 and suffer with osteoarthritis in hip and feet so I've found it difficult to exercise through the pain. Just before u was diagnosed I joined the gym and was able to swim twice a week and do light weights, I was starting to feel good but then I got diagnosed with BC, as soon as my treatment is all over I'm going to go back to the gym again as I've no energy at all atm..I also knit crochet and sew , so I've plenty to lift my mind..maybe if you have a wee interest in something or try join classes to keep the mind occupied and give you an interest in something..Big hugs and good luck xx
Hello Deeds, thank you for your good suggestions. A wee class of some kind could be the answer. The pandemic hasn't helped as we've all been stuck at home too long. I think the lack of motivation could be linked to the tablets but I'm continuing with them as I know they're necessary. I was sorry to hear that just when you were making headway with your Arthritis pain, BC came along. You have a great mental attitude and it won't be long until you're swimming and pumping those weight again ;-) I wish you well with your recovery and that you regain your energy levels soon. Thank you for your kindness, take care xx
