I'm 47 year old from India and got my BCS in December 21 , I'm going with my 4th AC chemotherapy and totally got exhausted....here in India it's it's curse to have such disease as it's very expensive and no government support.

Wish me good luck as 4 more to go and then RT sessions

Hi Simmi welcome to the forum and so sorry to hear about whats been happening for you. It is an awful disease for anyone but it sounds like culturally it is worse for you and thats so sad when you  are already having to deal with so much with treatment etc.

We are truly lucky in this country to have our NHS where nearly all of us have our treatments which are free and well supported throughout the health care sector for us.

I send you my very best and warmest wishes for the rest of your treatment and please do let us know how you are doing.

    Hi Simmy

I am also 47 and have just finished chemo.  I am booked for surgery next week and will then have RT.  I certainly consider myself lucky to have the NHS here.  Hope the chemo side effects are kind to you and that you have family support xx

  • Hi Simmi

sorry to hear what you’re going through.  I spent some time in India and experienced some lovely health care, but of course it had to be paid for and I really appreciate how lucky we are in the UK with the NHS.  I’ve had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy and finished a couple of weeks ago.  In my experience chemo went quite quickly after I’d got halfway so I hope it’s the same for you.  And then I found radiotherapy much easier than chemo.  Hope your remaining treatment goes smoothly and you start to feel better.  Best wishes and do let us know how you’re getting on xx

Hi everyone thanks everyone for being so nice and showing concern, i think this disease is more psychological then physical if you are supported by friends and family. My family is very supportive and helping me to cope up well.

I wish all the best for everyone and let's keep on supporting each other.

Yes NHS is a big support and take care of financial burden

  • Hi Simmi and welcome to the forum, sorry to hear you too have BC,  I'm having my 5th session of chemo on Thursday and my last in 3 weeks. We are very lucky as Granny59 said to have NHS where we don't have to worry about the expenses of surgery and treatment, we are blessed .  Yes the chemo leaves you so exhausted,  I'm 51 now and had to have my daughter and niece come help me with housework as I tire too easily.  I get some energy back the week before next chemo. Will be glad when it's finished. But then I'll have RT. Good luck Simmi with your treatment..xx

  • Hi Simmi and All.

Can I ask if everyone on chemo is having it because the cancer has spread beyond breast and lymph nodes? I'm very confused about what I've heard. I'm waiting on CT and bone scan results but chemo recommended even if these are clear because the one lymph node they took was positive. Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

  • Hello Green Queen,  I was diagnosed with stage 3 estrogen positive lymph node clear grade 1..I was told after surgery that everything was clear, and I'd have RT. They were unsure about giving me chemo, so I had my first biopsy sent to America for an oncotype DX score  this came back at a score of 31, and was explained that my cells were multiplying very fast and it was recommended I also have chemotherapy as it has a higher chance of recurrence.. I believe if it has spread to the lymph nodes or anywhere else you will automatically have chemo. There is also different types of chemo treatment so depending on yours you will have it tailored to you..hope this helps a bit. And good luck.. xx

  • Hi Green Queen, I have just started chemo, and yes it’s because it has spread to two of the nodes. Take care. Sandra
