Hi. I'm a 39yr old with 2 kids and carer to my partner, I have been diagnosed with hormonal positive and her2 positive breast cancer. Unsure of stage and grade but I have a 5cm lump with 3 nodes affected. Started chemo last week feel fine now but has anyone else had a sore neck and back of the head a week after treatment. It's a dull ache always there never goes away.
HI Unlucky, well done for finding this site so quickly, it is full of amazing women with BC. I had chemo and was sick, felt really rough but did not suffer from a sore neck or head, which type of chemo are you on? post here so relevant women can try to help you. You are not alone, I can remeber how it felt, it will pass, heop you keep your hair. Love from Ann
Hi my chemo is epribicin 140mg, cyclophosphamide 900mg for 4 cycles then move on to another kind for 4 cycles. I was on dexamethsone 4mg, onclansetron 8mg, metoclopamide 10mg and filtration 300mg but finished the course of tablets and injections. My head and neck are ok today but in pain with lower back and hips since last night.
Thanks for replying to me Ann
I had severe headaches and back and hip pain which I was told was caused by the filgastrim injections, I was on the same chemo as you. They reduced my injections from 7 to 5 and I started taking daily loratadine (as advised from someone on here) and that did ease it a fair bit. The pain started days 6/7/8. I hope you feel a bit better soon x
After a couple of days it went, take some ibuprofen (with food) and paracetamol (take your temperature first) I do empathise, I found it painful too. Having just 5 injections did work for me, my bloods held up enough and I had less pain, maybe discuss it with your chemo nurse xx
Hi, like you I started chemo last weds and on the same EC as you. It gave me a blinding headache the first 2 days but it was the constant nausea that I had that made me miserable for 5 days even with the take home meds. I did have a couple of days discomfort at the bottom of my back too. Hope you start to feel better soon.
We can and we will beat this and maybe your unlucky39 will turn in to lucky39. We and many others have a long road ahead of us and this is a great forum to ask for help and also be there for others. My second chemo is on Wednesday and although I know what is coming it doesn’t make it any easier. Xxx
