Today I went for my appointment. Had an examination by the consultant. Mammogram, ultrasound and then 8 core biopsy's. 4 on the breast lump, and then the doctor decided to do 4 on the various lymph nodes under my arm, while telling me they don't usually do the lymph node biopsy's at this appointment. Feeling battered and bruised. That clicking is horrendous. Then had to go back to see the consultant who told me to stay healthy in preparation for surgery. Although he did not say I had cancer. ?! Left feeling confused. Is it normal to have so many samples taken at once? I now have a 2 week wait for the results. Seems like such a long time.
So after trying to stay positive for the 2 week wait, today I feel a lump under my arm and a pea sized lump on my collar bone. I must admit defeat I had a little cry for the first time. 3 days until my appointment. Starting to feel worried and a deep sense of dread like a knot inside.
How are you all doing?
So sorry to hear what you are going through. It’s so scary and the waiting is the worst. At least it’s only three more days til you get more information. I’m in a similar position and still have 10 days to go. My doctor told me she was sure it was cancer too and they took 24 samples with a core biopsy (the biopsy was so much worse than I expected).
Try to keep busy and keep away from Google. Will be thinking of you.

I’m the same, results day on Tuesday and I would be gobsmacked if it’s benign. Just hoping it’s easy to treat. It’s hissing it down oop north so that’s hampering my sanity saving walking.
Hi Lisa, I thought it was just me that had a bad biopsy experience, I keep reading that it’s relatively painless but mine wasn’t. I don’t know if it depends on the type of biopsy? Mine was done by a machine that I have nicknamed Bernie the bolt!
Hi chickenlover, I got a call from the Linda mccartney centre and my results are clear. I don't need to keep my appointment either.
I'm so very relieved.
Good luck with your results and hope it will be like mine xx
Congratulations Bimblebritain! That’s wonderful news, hope you’re doing something nice to celebrate
Hi Chickenlover
your comment on Bernie the Bolt did make me laugh ! Thank you for that
I agree my biopsies have been painful too, don’t know if it’s because of the type of biopsy or because I’ve got big boobs (38F)
I’m only 56 but I do remember ‘the Golden Shot’ with Bob Monkhouse and Bernie the bolt. Hubby has just confessed to lusting after the dolly bird on it too .
wonder if there’s an alternative if I ever need another biopsy? Either that or I’ll have to take a hip flask in with me.
