Hi I’m 46 and have been diagnosed with Paget’s disease plus invasive ductal carcinoma and positive for ER, PR and HER2.
I have had biopsies, bloods and MRI done, just got to wait now for 3 weeks till I can get a CT scan done, which I feel is a long time to wait because then it will need to be reviewed then another MDT before being passed over to Oncology, with a view to starting Chemo and Anti-HER2 treatment. Then surgery for a Mastectomy.
If it wasn’t for having a sore leaky nipple I would not have known about the invasive ductal carcinoma as no lump was felt by anyone yet it’s throughout my breast.
My worries at the moment is the smelly discharge from my nipple as I’m afraid that during all this time before surgery it will become infected and may lead to sepsis, I’m changing my dressings every few day and taking time to clean the area, I’m hoping once I start chemo it will settle down a bit.
Thanks for reading, my head is a shed at the moment, I’m usually a very positive person but this is all that consumes my thoughts through out the day and night.
Hi Pocket rocket
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's perfectly understandable that your head is all over the place at the moment, but once you have a treatment plan things should be a lot easier.
There's a chemo thread on this forum in which people going through chemo give advise if you need it. This is what it's called
Wishing you the best of luck with your chemo when it starts. The following is the link for the thread if you want to check it out: community.macmillan.org.uk/.../1683516
Best wishes

Hi Daisy, thank you for reply and information.
My lumpectomy/sentinel lymoh node removal was 20th Jan. Same diagnosis, 1.5cm, invasive, spiculated, Grade 2 Her2 positive, P8/O8. Awaiting results on Thursday/treatment plan. Already told I will need Chemo, Radio and Herceotin. Fingers crossed margins all clear and not in lymph nodes
I also had no idea about lump as no symptoms and it was too deep to feel.
Hi Gander, I’ll cross my fingers for you, also wishing you a speedy recovery. Xx
