Hi di how are you feeling about it what sort of cancer do you have and what is your treatment plan.

My name is Kerry im near the end of my chemo now so if you have  any questions hopefully i can help you out I am going though breast cancer found out 5th August last year started treatment on the 11th sept

  • Hi Kerry I have lobular breast cancer. Had partial then full mastectomy in December.

Now chemo. I am nervous but feel I just want it done now. Once started there's a finish date. I know there will be side affects but hope to face them as and when. When you read them all its scary but. They say you don't get them all so trying not to get worked up.

i know it is scary when they tell you all the side affects but it is do able. The hardest thing i find was not being able to do the little things because just so tried and lack of energy i am normal very active so its frustrating and i just had to learn on them days just to do nothing and not feel guilty about it.

I also had the horrible taste all the time and lost my hair but in my eyes that will all go and the hair will grow back and the main thing is it helps you kick this horrible cancer.

Try not to worry to much you have this Slight smile

  • Hiya Di,

Welcome. I too am in Scotland, north of Inverness. Hope all goes well.  I'm new to this too. My first treatment is tomorrow. Zoledronic acid and Palbociclib.

Wishing you all the best for next week.

    Sending hugs,

    Kathryn x.

When you're going through hell, don't stop!

Fingers crossed it all goes better than you expect, if you're like me you expect it all to be difficult. Don't despair everyone seems nice here and I just know they'll help us through this. Take care and let me know how it goes.

Hi di good evening I had six months of chemotherapy for breast cancer. I'm not going to lie to you it's not going to be easy. I'm normally a very fit person but it did knock me off my feet. I had days when I could not walk which was very frustrating for me as I have 3 dogs and love walking. But you will have good days and you have to make the most of them. I was off food bad taste in the mouth. I'm now having radiotherapy now can't wait to finish it. I still fighting don't give up and keep smiling. Wishing you all the best

Hi Di, my Chemotherapy finished middle of December. I didn't have any sickness at all follow the instructions for the many anti sickness pills they give you.  Don't let the nausea start it's harder to stop once started. I had about 3 days every cycle when I did nothing but rest and sleep but that was all really,  a small blood clot in a vein in my arm  that was not dangerous although it scared me at the time.  Sleep when you need to X best wishes

Hi Di.  I hope your first session goes well.  I m editing to hear if I need chemo after surgery and suspect I will.  I can’t say I’m not scared. But reading the replies here is a bit helpful.  If it gets rid of this disease, bring it on. Best wishes

  • Hiya Thanks for your mail. I find it helpful to see what others feel after treatment and it helps prepare for it all. Whilst I know it will not be pleasant I want to keep an open mind till I experience it. At least with all the info I can check any effects are expected or if I need to contact a professional. It's just the unknown and the scare factor, I try to stay positive.
