  • Have  read of the Oestogen reducing medications thread

    https://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_types/chat-breast-cancer/f/questions-about-diagnosis-and-treatment/208210/oestrogen-reducing-medications

It may or may not help. A lot of the side effects can be due to which medication you are on but also the brand. I'm on tamoxifen and other than starting in a morning but feeling sick so I switched to an evening, the brand im ok seems to be OK so I make sure that it goes on my prescription from the gp and my pharmacist is good too. You might need to have a play around. Good luck x

Hi I'm on Anastrozole and calcium with vitamin B. I take it at night and have not had any problems. Never taken it in the morning.

So you've had no side effects at all how long you been on it.

I had a mastectomy 2 years ago and they put me on anastrzole 1mg coated I took it at night because they said I would probably get pain in my joints

I have had some discomfort but not to bad so I now take it when I get up

You just have to preserve you will find what is best for you.  It's a real nuisance for you and after all you've been through you don't need it

I wish you luck just hang on in there it will sort itself out in the end stay strong xx

Ah thank you for your kind words x

  • Hi Huntsmoor, I take Letrozole and started as part of Poetic-A trial 2 weeks prior to surgery on 2nd December.

I was a bit dizzy and had nausea with the accord brand but then my next prescription was a different brand. My joints have been agony especially my dominant right hand and I've developed trigger thumb, had horrible hot flushes and night sweats too. I read a few posts on here saying the brand can make a difference so I've asked to go back on accord and hopefully I'll see a change for the better.

I hope that you find something to suit you, it's bad enough going through this without all of the additional problems medication can bring.

Take care and wishing you all the very best x
