Hi everyone,
I've recently been diagnosed with grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. The tumour is ER8/8, PgR 8/8 and HER2 2+ positive with FISH awaited. The lumps are 15mm and 2mm, found it in July and had to wait for 4 months due to the backlog and COVID.
Not sure what all of this mean because my nurse is off with COVID since I've been diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I've seen the oncologist and the surgeon who recommended chemotherapy, which I'm going to start on 10/01/22. Had all my MRI Scan and ultrasound and marker put in and going to have a implant port put in for my chemotherapy.
I was given the MacMillan book to read but still don't understand what my cancer grading mean. I've seen too many comments on this type of cancer but everyone is having different treatment plan.
Would love some advice if anyone is going through this.
Thanks in advance
Stacey
Hi,
I got told I have grade 2, DICS. On that part all I know of from what I was told is grade 2 is caught early.
Unfortunately I have just been told only this , I have a 12 mm lump, Hertz 2 negative.
It's worth phoning up to speak to one of the cancer nurses, mines been away for about 3 weeks , but I still phone up and just speak to someone else, if you can do that , give that a go to find out what it all means as they will give you the correct info.
Please don't Google, I got told not to do this as it just gives so much info that sometimes isn't correct or helpful .
Hi, ive called the breast clinic numerous of times but no help from the other nurses. All I've been told is to wait until my nurse come back from sick leave.
I tried not to use Google there's too many contradiction regarding this type of breast cancer. I've booked for chemo on the 11th but I would like to speak to others to see if this was the first option.
Hope you are doing well?
Thanks for the advice.
Hi,
I'm so sorry you have had no help from the other nurses. It's a good site, I've not long joined but I feel it's really helpful, Im not knowledgeable as much as I'm just starting in the early, stages.
Alot of anxiety ,& up and down emotions. I have surgery next year, then I'm sure I'm having radio at some point & possible chemo & hormone therapy.
It's all just been a waiting game with many new results in between, and constant anxiety.
Hope you get some answers,
Hope everything goes well with your treatment.
