Hi, I had Breast cancer in 2012 diagnosed in June - mastectomy in July, chemo started end of Aug through to end of Nov. Jan 2013 had 15 sessions of Radiotherapy then had my reconstruction in Feb 2014. Because the lump was so big they couldn't see it all so when they performed the reconstruction I had the other breast tissue removed. Got the all clear and then no more monitoring as no breast tissue.
Went to Dr end of last month, had to have a scan which confirmed a rib fracture and legions on my ribs, referred to my oncologist who sent me for a CT Scan - confirmed legions everywhere, ribs, backbone, shoulders, pelvis. Blood test confirmed its breast cancer and not a myloma cancer so treatment has now begun. I need hormone drugs (as my previous cancer fed off my estogen) I now have to have bone strengthening injections - first one yesterday, and oral chemo which I started today. For me its not curable but is something they tell me I can live with, so now i just need the drugs to work to give me a fighting chance to give me as long a life as I can. My partner has looked at stats as to the average length of time I have but thats not for me I would rather not know. I'm now going to live in the now and still plan holidays and weekends away and just enjoy myself, as I have always said 'life is too short we need to live whilst we are here' - I need to listen to myself!
Oh this must have been a shock for you. I know there are a lot of ladies in this site who have been living with incurable cancer for many, many years (I know one was telling us how she's a stable Mabel for 6 years). Hopefully some of them will see your post and come and offer support. xx

Hi so sorry to hear of your recurrence.I just want to say that the statistics quoted by even the big cancer sites are grossly out of date, some by over 10 years. The new treatments available now are also not in that data so completely irrelevant to your situation.Stay positive and also look into naturopathic diet specifically for your type of cancer. There is some fantastic New data coming through monthly on diet and cancers.
Stay safe,enjoy your Xmas,
Yvie
