Hello, I’m currently on my Breast cancer journey, I was diagnosed with stage 3 hormone positive breast cancer on the 30th of September (I’ll never forget that date) I’ve had the gene test and thankfully don’t carry the brca1 or brca2 gene which is fantastic as my mum died of HER2 cancer when I was 13, I’m now 29 and waiting on my results (31st of December) to see if chemo will be on the cards or just radiotherapy. Just wondering if anyone else was worried about this new variant and delays on treatments?
I have waited 4 weeks for my results , but found out today- no chemo. My cancer was hormone positive too, so I’ll need hormone blockers . I’m 46, so older than you lovely , but yes I’ve been cautious and worried about the risks since my diagnosis . I’m a primary school teacher so had to finish work to ensure i didn’t catch covid . I’ll keep everything crossed for you that it’s positive news ! Xx
That’s great news for you, it’ll be 3 weeks tomorrow mine was sent of so hopefully I’ll have my results by next week. I’m a Teaching Assistant in early years (reception class) and I’ve been off work since I fount out because I didn’t want to catch covid as well. Thank you.
Hello CloMo, I was diagnosed know the 13th August, grade3 stage 2 ductal carcinoma ER positive Here negative,,was to have surgery on the 7th of September but it was called off as I tested positive for the virus, had to wait 7 weeks before they would do it, that took me up to the 1st of November yes its scarey and causes delays along the way. I waited 3 weeks on my oncotype score, it came back at a score of 31, so I'm having chemo and radiotherapy followed by Tamoxifen, I'm 50 years old, I was to start chemo last Thursday but ended up with a chest infection, so that was cancelled as I had to go on an antibiotic, nurse will call tomorrow to take my bloods and all being well I will start this Thursday. You don't realise there can be a lot of set backs along the way, I've been signed off work too since start of September as I work with the public and also classed as high risk..your very young, take care and I hope all goes well for you..xx
