Hi all - just joining this group. Diagnosed last week and had 1st chemo session yesterday. I am HER2+ so having herceptin, docetaxel, trastuzumab & pertuzumab for 4 sessions at 3 week intervals. Then operation and radiotherapy .
Still reeling from the diagnosis and treatment etc. Thankful last it has started quickly.
just waiting for the side effects to ‘kick in’
wishing everyone well
Oh deeds, thank goodness you got thru the helpline. You do what you feel best for yourself, even though your hubby just wants you to enjoy Christmas. In meantime take good care for yourself...maybekeep the flowers in a room your not in all the time

re covid test , we only have one prior to first treatment . Different hospitals do things differently
NNUH seem not to like picc lines

I visited patients who have daily IV so necessary then .

All done.....I rang the bell !
Just an exhausting ,achy, week with weird tastes and tummy issues to get through....oh and the dreaded injections! Not as much nausea as with the EC. But docetaxol exhausted me on the last two sessions. I bEgan to recover a week after but very gradually. Husband brought breakfast and lunch and even dinner in bed !!!!!!! Half watched entire from box set Man in the Something Tower....chemo brain I can't even remember the title! With EC I managed to cook and eat downstairs but Docetaxol agggh.
lots of tips about side effects and managing them on this site. Very useful.
Well done Cos - keep going. Must feel great to have completed this part - yes agree weird tastes, tummy things and very achy - I’m on day 9 and still not right but getting there all the best
