Hi all - just joining this group. Diagnosed last week and had 1st chemo session yesterday. I am HER2+ so having herceptin, docetaxel, trastuzumab & pertuzumab for 4 sessions at 3 week intervals. Then operation and radiotherapy .
Still reeling from the diagnosis and treatment etc. Thankful last it has started quickly.
just waiting for the side effects to ‘kick in’
wishing everyone well
Awe Deb3112, I hope your ok, I am worried about covid too and this new variety, I've told my friends ill see them when this treatment is all over, I'm hibernating too. It's such a scarey time..plenty of good shows on netflix, my son even got me into watching the marvel films..in correct order..lol. take care.xx
Hi Deb3112 - just hoping you are doing ok - sounds like you are on the same course of treatment as me. Up & downs for me and really don't know what to expect each morning. Yes anxious about Omicron - have my daughter coming back from Uni tomorrow and son breaking up at school. Hope you are not feeling too bad - Caminogirl
Hi
How are you feeling now? Hope side effects have not been too bad for you.
I've had several, all nasty, but not bad enough to keep me in bed, I've been pretty shattered though.
Hope you are doing ok
Xx
Not too bad - very tired, stomach pains and some nausea, hot & cold - now thrush, bloody nose and mouth sore - some general aches and pains but keep thinking that we have to go through this to get better. Agree have been up but taking it easy generally, drinking a lot of water and herbal teas to keep fluids up. Just spoken to my daughter who has a cold and is coming home tomorrow! Have to keep my distance I think - Keep going x
Bless you, sounds very similar to me. We can do this, It will be lovely for you to have your daughter home, hope her cold is not too bad! Take care of yourself xx
Thank you Cosmossy, Its good to hear from people that are nearing the end of their Chemo, its a very personal journey, but the support and love of those around you, (and on this site) help get you through. I sure you are over the moon to be completing this part of your journey, good luck, take care x
Thansk for the reassurance Cos, it means so much to lift spirits to all those who are going thru similar...this is the sort of strength we do need to get us lot through.
Well done on completing your treatment...huge relief for you I am sure.
